Principal Investigator

Ruonan Han

Associate Professor

  • Ph. D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cornell University, 2014

  • M. S. in Electrical Engineering, University of Florida, 2009

  • B. S. in Microelectronics, Fudan University, 2007

Ruonan is a core faculty member of the Microsystems Technology Laboratories (MTL). His research group aims to explore microelectronic circuit and system technologies to bridge the terahertz gap between microwave and infrared domains. He served on the committees of a few conferences, including the technical-program committee (TPC) of IEEE Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) Symposium, and International Microwave Symposium (IMS), and 2019 IMS Steering Committee. He is also an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems and Guest Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (T-MTT). He is the Distinguished Microwave Lecturer of IEEE Microwave Theory Techniques Society (MTT-S). Ruonan is the recipient of the ECE Director's Best Thesis Research Award and Innovation Award from Cornell University, the Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award and MTT-S Graduate Fellowship Award from IEEE, two Best Student Paper Awards from IEEE Radio-Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (2012 and 2017), NSF Faculty Early CAREER Development Award (2017), as well as Intel Outstanding Researcher Award (2019).
